Fires in apartments and multifamily buildings may start small, but they spread quickly, often destroying several living spaces. In the aftermath of a disaster, figuring out the next steps is hard. During this difficult time, it's important to be prepared. As a property manager or owner, having a fire damage restoration company on your checklist of resources is crucial.

Our Fire Damage Restoration Process
It's imperative to have someone with knowledge and experience on your side during a fire crisis.
When you call ANS, our fire restoration experts can help walk you through the steps you need to take once a fire occurs. This allows us to quickly gain control of the restoration project on your behalf. Once we have inspected your property, we'll provide a detailed report and scope of work for your fire damage restoration project.
ANS repairs all property damage caused by soot, smoke, and fire. Our IICRC-certified fire restoration teams construct the best plan to quickly get your building back to its pre-loss condition.

Because every property is different, each fire restoration project for apartment buildings is too. However, every fire disaster will have a similar process and will often include:
Contact ANS
Your fire restoration process begins when you call our headquarters. Our specialist will ask you a series of questions about the fire event that occurred. That way, we can arrive on-site with the proper resources and equipment.
Fire Damage Assessment
and Inspection
Our fire damage restoration team will carefully inspect the entirety of your apartment complex, from building to building and room to room. We do so to determine the extent of your apartment's fire, smoke, and soot damage. This step is crucial to developing a comprehensive restoration plan.
Board-Up Services
First responders like firefighters must break windows and cut holes in roofs to slow fire growth and save lives. Once the fire is out, our team can get to work, boarding up holes and constructing temporary fencing around the property.
Water Removal
If there is water damage associated with your apartment fire, we'll remove most of the water immediately. From there, we use air movers and dehumidifiers to help complete the drying process.
Smoke and Soot Removal
Within minutes of a fire, walls, electronics, and other surfaces are covered in soot. Smoke and ash continue to cause damage to every inch of your apartment building. That's why ANS uses specialized equipment to remediate smoke damage and remove odors. This process is often labor-intensive and can take time, especially for large fire damage restoration needs.
Cleaning and Sanitizing
Using a variety of restoration and cleaning techniques, our team will help clean restorable items and sanitize units for safety.
Restoration
Getting your apartment buildings to their pre-fire conditions is our ultimate goal. Depending on the size and scope of the fire restoration job, minor repairs like painting, drywall replacement, and new carpet installation might be needed. You might also need major structural renovations like re-siding, re-roofing, new window installation, floor replacement, and more.
Tips for Preventing Apartment Fires
If you're a property manager or own multifamily residential buildings, the thought of an apartment fire is terrifying. What starts as a small fire can quickly turn into a catastrophic event, with your entire complex up in flames. However, one of the best ways of preventing these fires is to know more about them.
Share these tips with tenants to help prevent deadly apartment fires:
Turn Off Heat Sources

Data shows that a large number of apartment fires begin with cooking. Often, these fires are caused by the ignition of common items like rags, curtains, wallpapers, and bags. Encourage tenants to keep their kitchens and cooking areas clear of combustibles. Never leave a stove unattended for long, and don't leave burners on by themselves. Unintentional mishaps like leaving heat sources on are common causes of fires that can be prevented with a little forethought.
Electrical Safety

Like heat sources, electrical malfunctions are also common causes of fires in apartment complexes. It's hard to prevent all electrical malfunctions, but you can tell tenants to avoid bad habits. Tips include never using extension cords as permanent solutions and never using a cable if the third prong is missing.
Appliance Safety

Appliances are a part of everyone's lives. They're also standard equipment in most apartment units. But if tenants don't take proper precautions, these useful tools can spark deadly fires.
Tips for Preventing Apartment Fires
No matter how large or small, fires are nightmare scenarios for entrepreneurs with commercial properties. Fire damage can completely ruin storefronts and offices, leaving charred remains and burned-up files before firefighters arrive. To make matters worse, soot and smoke damage ruin your businesses' furniture, HVAC system, carpet, walls, and windows.
To eliminate health hazards and restore your business to its pre-fire condition, you need to bring in a team of professionals with years of experience in fire damage remediation. At ANR, we use commercial-grade equipment and cutting-edge tools to clean up the aftermath of your fire and rebuild your property. That way, you can get back to running your business and providing for your family.

Share these tips with tenants to help prevent deadly apartment fires:
Remove Smoke and Fire Damage

One of the most common causes of large commercial loss stems from smoke and fire damage. Of course, these disasters cause injuries and fatalities. But they also generate tremendous amounts of damage, rot, mold, and harm to structures. Not to mention the devastation that fire damage has to the appearance and livability of the facility. Fire damage restoration companies restore - and also prevent - the root cause of the fire. Electrical outlets, wires, and other fire-prone items will all be addressed to prevent a subsequent disaster.
Highly Skilled

The best fire damage restoration professionals are highly-trained, exceptionally skilled, and properly equipped to deal with every aspect of a commercial fire. From handling major renovations to taking care of the lingering effects of smoke damage, pro fire restoration companies take care of it for you. Hiring ANR means you'll be working with technicians who have the knowledge, tools, and materials to get the job done right the first time.
Insurance Claims

When you start the claim process with your businesses' insurance company, they'll ask whether you've hired a fire damage restoration company. That's because companies like Atlas prevent further damage from occurring and calculate an estimate of your total loss. You can submit this estimate to your insurance company, which may then provide you with resources to complete your company's disaster recovery mt-md-1

At a time when a starting pitcher throwing a complete game is now as rare as a starting pitcher throwing a no-hitter once was, a starting pitcher tossing four innings – even in a Spring Training game – is now (and please pardon the cliché) the equivalent of being ‘in mid-season form.’
But if being ‘in mid-season form‘ is actually a thing, then 25-year-old Dodgers right-hander Dustin May is very much ‘in mid-season form.’
In only his third appearance of the Spring (second start), the extremely popular Justin, TX native and Dodgers third-round draft pick in 2016 out of Northwest High School in Justin went 4.0 innings against the Cincinnati Reds at Goodyear Ballpark on Sunday afternoon, allowing no runs and only two hits (both singles), while walking one and striking out seven, to earn his second win of the Spring (against no losses) and the Dodgers winning their eighth game (with four losses) 8-1 over the Reds.
“I felt really good today. I was locating everything when I needed to locate it,” May said, following his excellent outing. “The slider was good, the two-seam (fastball) was good, the change-up was pretty good, as well. I was pretty confident with all the stuff today,” May added.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts very much concurred.
“I thought Dustin was really good out of the stretch. I thought he was varying his time, he did a really nice job holding the baseball,” Roberts told SportsNet LA’s Kirsten Watson postgame. “I thought just the command in the zone, I thought the breaking ball today was really good for swing-and-miss, for strikes. The cutter’s always in-play.
“He got stressed one inning, thought he was getting a little bit squeezed (by the umpires), but he got out of it and came back and threw four innings, so really a good day for Dustin,” added the Dodgers skipper.
As Dodgers fans know, May underwent Tommy John surgery in May of 2022 and appeared in only six games following the procedure and lengthy recovery period, going 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA in those six games (all starts) in his combined 30.0 post-Tommy-John innings pitched.
“I would say that right now is probably the closest I’ve been to, like, pre-surgery, like, feel-wise, so I’m in a pretty good spot right now,” May answered, when asked where he’s at post-surgery.
May is definitely ‘in mid-season form‘… in March.

12-4 Lions have pitching and hitting as District 6-4A baseball schedule heats up

With seven of nine position starters returning from last year’s 9-16 team, the Brownwood Lions had higher expectations for this season. So far, those expectations are mostly being met.
Brownwood is 12-4 overall and 1-0 in District 6-4A as the district schedule hits full throttle this week. Brownwood is scheduled to host Graham at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and the Lions are set to travel to Stephenville at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The Brownwood pitchers have a staff earned run average of 2.05, plus the Lions have a team batting average of .358.
“Overall, I’m pleased with where we are at this point,” fourth-year Brownwood coach Brian Harris said this week. “Our pitching has been a bright spot, and our hitters are swinging the bats well. We need to improve some on the defensive side. We have expectations, and we’re steadily getting better at a lot of things.”
In its last two tournaments – one hosted by Stephenville and one co-hosted by Bowie and Boyd – Brownwood won six of eight games. Sandwiched between those two tournaments was an 11-1 win over Mineral Wells in the District 6-4A opener on March 7.
THE PITCHERS
The Lions’ pitching staff is led by junior Gavin Brandstetter, who is 2-1 with an earned run average under 1.00. Brandstetter has logged 33 strikeouts and compared to just four walks in 18 innings this season.
“Gavin has taken a big step since last year,” Harris said. “He has been on the varsity since he was a freshman. He’s kept us in some tight games this year. In our first district game at Mineral Wells, we got off to a slow start with the bats. But Gavin stayed steady until we started hitting.”
Senior Luke Gray has been a surprise. He was in Brownwood’s baseball program for part of his freshman year before his family moved to the Dallas area. He returned to Brownwood for his senior year.
“We didn’t expect to have him,” Harris said of Gray. “He played baseball at Highland Park. We’re glad he decided to play for us again this year.”
Gray is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA so far this season. He has allowed some runs, but none were earned. He has 11 strikeouts and nine walks in 14.1 innings.
Junior Cole Miller is 2-1 and a 2.77 ERA with 17 strikeouts and 10 walks. “Cole has had a few rough outings, but he’s getting better each time out,” Harris said.
Junior David Turner is 2-1 with a 5.25 ERA. Sophomore Noah Gonzales is 2-1 with a 0.98 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
In the final game of the Bowie/Boyd tournament, Austin Wright pitched a four-hit shutout over five innings in a 6-0 win over Burkburnett. Wright has a 0.00 ERA over his 8.2 innings.
Senior Aidan Howard, a relief pitcher, hasn’t been used much so far, but Harris expects Howard to play a big role during the district schedule.
“With the (UIL-mandated) pitch count, you have to develop pitchers,” Harris said. “We have to make sure their arms are healthy. The biggest thing is getting their arms in shape at the start of the season.”
Harris thinks the defensive improvement he mentioned will come with more games. “It’s about game experience and the speed of the game. We try to simulate that when we scrimmage in practice. We just have to play faster,” the coach said.
THE HITTERS
The Lions are batting .358 as a team with a .473 on-base percentage.
“Our performance at the plate really tells the tale of our season,” Harris said. “On-base percentage if what we emphasize. We want runners on the bases, so we can put pressure on the defense.”
Centerfielder Case Markham is the Lions’ leadoff hitter, and the energetic senior is batting .362 with six doubles, three triples and 17 runs scored.
Senior outfielder Campbell Gilmore is batting .469 with a .564 on-base percentage. He also has drawn seven walks and scored eight runs.
Senior second baseman Owen Huntsinger is batting .400 with a .571 on-base percentage. Senior outfielder Taylor Bessent is batting .436 with a .476 on-base percentage. Bessent has four extra-base hits and 14 runs batted in.
Brandstetter, who doubles as a first baseman when he’s not pitching, is batting .340 with five extra-base hits, including one home run. He also has 10 runs scored and nine RBI.
David Turner, who doubles as a third baseman, is batting .484 with a .595 on-base percentage. He has five extra-base hits, seven RBI and has drawn eight walks.
Miller, who plays first base and serves as the designated hitter, is batting .333 with a .529 on-base percentage from the clean-up spot in the batting order.
Sophomore shortstop Antonio Ibarra is batting .391 with a .483 on-base percentage. He has 11 RBI from the No. 9 spot in the batting order.
Junior catcher Logan Posey has four doubles, and “is starting to get hot,” Harris said.
The Lions receive contributions off the bench from Justin Valdez, Cameron Harte, Jordyn Nickerson and Eli Goodrich.
THE DISTRICT
Stephenville, Glen Rose and Brownwood appear to be the favorites in District 6-4A, which also includes Mineral Wells and Graham. Glen Rose is 6-5-1 entering district.
“Stephenville returns a lot of experience, and they have expectations and tradition,” Harris said. “They went to the state tournament two years and to the regional final last year. They’ll be a tough opponent.
“Glen Rose returns a lot of all-district players. I don’t know as much about Graham and Mineral Wells. The Mineral Wells pitcher we faced kept us off balance until we figured him out in the fourth inning.”
Brownwood finished 6-6 in its district last year. The Lions lost to Vernon in bidistrict.

SAN DIEGO, March 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Mortgage Capital Trading, Inc. (MCT®), a leading mortgage hedge advisory and secondary marketing software firm, announced that BSI Financial Services (BSI) has become the latest investor to join BAMCO, MCT's new marketplace for co-issue loan sales. BAMCO brings co-issue transactions directly into MCT's whole loan trading platform and improves price transparency by connecting unapproved sellers to live executions from potential buyers.
"We're very excited about having BSI on BAMCO as we move toward realizing MCT's vision of every loan being priced to every investor," said Justin Grant, Senior Director, Head of Investor Services at MCT. "Historically, lenders have had far more whole loan outlets than co-issue outlets – we're seeking to change that with BAMCO. BSI aids in that goal while bringing their respected process and excellent team."
Co-issue loan sales, also known as flow-based mortgage servicing rights (MSR) sales, are a three-way transaction involving the sale of loans to one of the agencies with a simultaneous sale of the MSR to a separate third party, such as BSI Financial. BAMCO supports live, flow-based, loan-level MSR pricing, expanding execution options for sellers while creating new client acquisition opportunities for buyers. While co-issue executions via agency integrations have always been and will continue to be included in lenders' loan sale best execution analysis, BAMCO provides a new section featuring direct co-issue pricing for both approved and unapproved buyers. Co-issue buyers have the choice to deliver standard grid-based co-issue pricing or loan-level bid tape co-issue pricing.
Larry Goldstone, President of BSI Financial Services said, "BSI is pleased to partner with MCT to further enhance the value that they provide to their clients. Co-issue flow servicing is a very powerful component of the loan sale market, and BSI is pleased to be able to provide servicing sale opportunities to BAMCO clients via its participation in all three co-issue platforms, Fannie Mae SMP, Freddie Mac's CIX and Ginnie Mae PIIT. Co-issue servicing sales greatly simplify the loan sale process directly to the three agencies, thereby simplifying and streamlining the loan sale process. Along with our participation on all three MSR exchanges, BSI stands ready to assist MCT's clients with setting up and participating in the co-issue market. We have dealt with many small to mid-size originators, and pride ourselves on the technology and client and borrower experience that we bring to this market."

There’s been no news on Greenville High OG Blake Franks since he passed on making a decision between USC and Clemson last month. Franks has not talked to any media since February and hasn’t taken any more visits since junior days at USC, Clemson and Auburn in January. But reportedly, that will change this week. Wes Mitchell of GamecockCentral reported Monday Franks is expected to visit USC Saturday to watch a spring practice. Franks apparently has gone back and forth between USC and Clemson in his decision making process. If he does make the Saturday visit, that could be a sign that closure is not far off.
Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated reported on some visitors to Clemson Saturday who had not been previously revealed. Those players were OT Daniel Calhoun of Marietta, GA and OT Jameson Riggs of Hiram, GA.
USC Monday offered OT Michael Uini of Copperas Cove, TX. Uini visited Clemson for their junior day Saturday.
WR Micah Gilbert (6-3 203) of Charlotte visited Clemson Monday. The Tigers have not yet offered. He does have an offer from USC.
Riverside DT Marcus Downs said he will visit USC this week. He went to Wake Forest in January and to Tennessee earlier this month. He is scheduled to visit Georgia Tech April 1st.
Two USC basketball players are back on the market after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal Monday. According to reports, center Tre-Vaugh Minott and forward Ja’Von Benson, both career reserves, will be looking for new homes.
According to Stockrisers, Sunday USC coach Lamont Paris going met with Wofford transfer 6-8 BJ Mack. Coaches from LSU and Florida were also in for a visit. Mack was first team All-Southern Conference this season. He averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds per game this season.
Clemson showing interest in St. Francis transfer 6-6 Tedrick Wilcox Jr. according to Stockrisers. He averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds per game this season.
Clemson has had contact with 6-2 North Carolina A&T transfer Justin Wright according to Stockrisers. He’s a two-time All-MEAC performer who averaged over 16 points and 5 rebounds per game this season.
2025 6-8 Sadiq White of Charlotte was offered by USC. He averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds per game this season as Myers Park won a state championship in North Carolina.
Former Dorman star guard Myles Tate is transferring from Butler after three seasons. He was a high school teammate of Clemson forward PJ Hall. With the Bulldogs, Tate played in 57 games and averaged 4 points and 1.4 assists per game. He missed most of his sophomore season with a torn ACL.
6-2 Tahlik Chavez of Charleston Southern is transferring. He averaged over 11 points per game this season.
Forget the “Eye of the Tiger” because Clemson is tapping into a more instinctual aspect of jungle cats. As the Tigers continue spring football practice, assistant head coach and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed sat down with the media to discuss what is fueling his unit and the team.
“The bar and the standard here is high,” Reed told a flock of reporters on Monday. “These guys are hungry. They want to win. They love to compete. It’s very pleasing to see that.”
Reed says his group is especially motivated by the way last season ended with losses to USC and Tennessee.
“The guys that came back, that (end of last year) left a bad taste,” noted Reed. “If we’d have won the national championship, their a*&#s probably would have left. But there’s some unfinished business.”
